Redefining “Money Can’t Buy You Happiness”

It’s long been said that money can’t buy happiness, but what does make us happy? A recent study by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA tried to find out. In this study, the subjects were divided into two groups. Each person was given $40. Group 1 was told to buy a possession, and Group 2 was told to spend it in a way that would give them more free time. Group 2 measured their happiness afterwards higher. So now we know – free time is what makes people happy.
